Should dictatorships still exist? By: Adam Kamara Wow! The news is really frightening. I think dictatorships shouldn’t exist because 1.injustice 2.oppression 3.Actions of Dictatorships Injustice 1.The injustice in a dictatorship is usually caused by a dictator who takes over unfairly and takes away all of the country's hard earned money. Dictatorships are said to be a system where the country's money is distributed equally between the country’s citizens. But the government takes all the money for their own benefit. 2. Also court sessions are led by the government and are not fair. Dictators continue to make trials unfair and send more innocent people to prison. Some were executed. Some people are arrested for the smallest misdemeanors. Like In North korea Otto Warmbier was sentenced to 15 Years of hard labor for stealing a propaganda poster from his hotel, he spent 15 months and came back to the USA. He died a few days later. 3. Some dictators change laws for their own benefit. Take for example. Alpha Conde, former president of guinea, Conde changed the constitution so he could run longer. Adolf Hitler quickly went from chancellor to dictator. Before he was a dictator he was charged with treason but he knew that the judges would quickly join his side so he was sentenced to one year but spent 9 months. And also vladimir putin president of Russia changed the constitution so he could run till 2036 https://world population review.com/country-rankings/dictatorship-countries Oppression 1. Most dictatorships have less or no freedoms at all. Like North Korea. North Korea doesn’t let you leave. If you do you could be deported depending on where you escape. They also use propaganda or Biased misinformation to support the government to scare citizens. North Koreans think that the United States is waiting to invade as an excuse for the country’s massive military spending. Another example is North Korean supreme leader Kim Jong- un telling his citizens that Americans want to kill North Koreans and to kill all americans. 2. The former Soviet Union was led by Joseph Stalin Stalin introduced the soviet gulag or work camps to make people feel oppressed and more afraid of the Government. Joseph Stalin stayed in power till his death from 1922-1953. That also shows that elections are not freely held; they are only held by the state. Which is also why Dictatorships shouldn’t exist. 3. Also, Most dictatorships require full obedience. North Korea's dictators banned religion because they say that the supreme leader is a god and anyone who says otherwise would be arrested or executed. In North Korea they also use necrocracy. Making Kim il sung, and Kim jong il still dictators. In North Korea people must bow at statues of the supreme leaders. And you must have a picture of the leaders in your house and school. If you don’t you will be arrested of tortured in a work camp. Actions of Dictatorships 1. Some actions of dictatorships include persecution, unfair trials, and strict movement in and out of the country. North Koreans are not allowed to travel to other countries, especially the USA. Since Traveling is forbidden people try to defect or escape and get arrested or executed. 2. Some dictatorships like the former soviet union had work camps where they did forced hard labor many of them were starved to death. 3. Adolf hitler caused a mass murder of the jewish community in Nazi Germany. And he also killed a minority of communists, romas, and gypsies. In total he killed over 11 million people. And that is why I think dictatorships shouldn’t exist. Because they oppress they’re peoples, They have no justice whatsoever, and the actions of dictatorships are very gruesome. So join me in the fight to end all dictatorships. And probably the fight for world peace! Thanks for reading.
