Translated by Reem Abdelhadi

I carry you, my son.

I carry you
In my frozen arms
My son
Through an endless night,
and a morning that never comes.
I lift you up,
towards the sky.
Where stars may warm,
more than the earth ever could.
Here you freeze.
Your body is so still.
The cold suffocates your cries.
Your tears,
are trapped like crystals.
Cut deep cracks,
in the soul of humanity.
Your breath fades away.
A last whisper in the wind.
What remains is just,
the weeping of silence.
My son
You are everyone's son.
In this broken world.
